What many people do not yet know is just how important it is to install and maintain carbon monoxide detectors in their homes as well. Every year in our country approximately two hundred people die from carbon monoxide poisoning. These tragedies can be easily avoided by purchasing a carbon monoxide detector at your local hardware store. In Massachusetts it's now required by law that all residential dwellings which contain fossil fuel burning equipment must be equipped with Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors in Massachusetts." Ways to avoid Carbon Monoxide poisoning in your home:

Purchase a carbon monoxide detector to place within 10 feet of every sleeping area in your home.
Change the batteries yearly, when you change your fire alarm batteries.
Have your furnace and fireplace checked regularly by a professional.
Use your generators properly.
Avoid “warming up” your car if the garage is attached to your home.

Real Estate Websites Are Reporting High Traffic And Record Revenues

Despite this current economic downturn, there are some real estate websites that are faring quite positively during this time. At the top of the pile is Trulia. Trulia, Inc. is a national residential real estate search site that was started in San Francisco in 2005. It was a venture capital-backed startup. According to Comscore, Trulia had 2.58 million visitors in the month of October, which unbelievably was one hundred percent higher than October of last year. Trulia’s officials report that their website receives five million hits per month.

Trulia’s revenue comes mostly from advertising and Realtor membership payments. Its co-founder and C.O.O. Sami Inkinen claims that their revenue is growing by double digits each month, and that they expect the company to become profitable by the first half of 2009. Two other Real Estate websites that are doing remarkably well are a real estate brokerage site named ZipRealty, and the national commercial Real Estate search site named LoopNet Inc.

Sold prices ranged from a low of $199,900 to a high of $925,000, with an average list price of $522,295, and average sales price of $501,311 and an average market time of 82.32 days. October 2007 reported 20 single family home sales in Andover MA with a sold price range from a low of $231,000 to a high of $1,100,000 with an average list price of $541,615, an average sale price of $529,560 and average market time of 114.57 days.
